Village Hall Meeting 23rd November 1951

A Meeting was held in the Church Hall on Friday 23rd November, 1951, the Rev. A. P. A. Gaze in the Chair.
Mr. R. D. Perkins explained the history of the Hall and also that  there was in existence a Village Social Fund which then stood at £107, £5 of this being earmarked towards a Childrens’ Christmas Party and £40 definitely for the Hall. He suggested that a Committee should be formed to take over the running of the Church Hall and also the Management of the Social Fund.
The Vicar then explained that the Trustees were very willing to hand over to a Committee providing that the Hall would not be thrown back on to their hands in two or three years.    He explained that the Committee should consist of (1)One Trustee appointed by themselves (2)One Representative of Wanborough Estate, i.e., a Director or the Bailiff. (3)One Representative of the. Pig Club. (4)Four members of the Parish or anyone living within a quarter of a mile of the Civil Parish Boundary
This was carried when put to the meeting. The Committee was elected as follows:-(l) To be arranged between the Trustees. (2) Mr. R. D. Perkins. (3) Mr. J. Myers. (4) Messrs. E. Ackerman, C. S. Johnson, J. Hillier and C. R.  S. Joyce.
The Vicar explained that the Trustees could not hand over the management there and then as it was felt that a solicitor should be consulted and a proper document drawn up.
The Meeting then terminated.
